The snowfall is getting heavier as kids return to school after winter break in Metro Vancouver.

As Canadians from coast to coast to coast brace for the first national blast of winter, Metro Vancouver is seeing snow start to fall in the region. Although not expecting a large snowfall at low elevations it is a happy sign for local skiers and snowboarders. The local mountains have not experienced much snow fall and winter sports enthusiasts are excited about the snow falling now. This winter front will bring extreme cold temperatures as the week moves in while other parts of the country are bracing for major snowfall accumulations of up to 35 cm and below average temperatures.
