The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) has announced the successful destruction of 15 targets, including key terrorists, in a series of air operations conducted across the Metina, Gara, Hakurk, Kandil, and Asos regions in northern Iraq. The statement from the Ministry cited the right of self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, emphasizing the necessity to neutralize the PKK/KCK terrorist organization and other elements posing a threat to the region.

The air operations, initiated at 17:30 on the 6th of January targeted caves, bunkers, shelters, and warehouses used by the separatist terrorist organization. The Ministry reported the destruction of these facilities, considered to house terrorists at a significant level of responsibility. The operations, employing domestic and national ammunition, resulted in the neutralization of numerous terrorists.

The Ministry underscored the Turkish Armed Forces' unwavering commitment to counter-terrorism, pledging to continue the fight until every terrorist threat is eliminated.
