Russia has said that its paratroopers have destroyed two Western-made armoured vehicles near Bakhmut.

The footage shows the Russian ordnance hitting one of two moving targets, allegedly Ukrainian armoured combat vehicles.

The footage was obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Wednesday, January 10, along with a statement claiming:'Airborne units from the Southern Group of Forces continue to destroy manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Artemovsk [former name for Bakhmut]direction.

'During the performance of combat missions, Russian paratroopers, using surveillance devices with a thermal imager, spotted a column of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consisting of two Western-made armoured combat vehicles (AFVs) moving towards the line of combat contact to carry out the rotation of personnel in forward positions.'

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
