STORYLINE:

An avalanche hit a highway in Altay Prefecture in China's Xinjiang, leaving 54 vehicles and over 200 individuals stranded amid freezing temperatures.

Upon receiving the reports, local police immediately dispatched snowplows, worked to clear the road, and distributed emergency supplies. 

After more than 2 hours of efforts, the road was cleared for the stranded vehicles.
