Fields of crops covered in ash from nearby erupting Mount Marapi
Fields of crops in Sariak Agam, Indonesia, were covered in ash that has been billowing from the active Mount Marapi.
Footage from January 15 shows local farmer Rahmat Illahi inspecting his crops.
"The wind direction caused ash from the eruption of Mount Marapi to fall onto our fields," Illahi said.
According to Illahi, the volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Marapi since December 3, 2023, has caused the chilli and eggplant yields in his fields to decrease by 50 per cent.
