Water freezes when bottle is opened outdoors in China
This is the moment water froze within seconds when the bottle was opened outdoors in China.
Footage shows a resident twisting off the cap and watching as the cold overcame the liquid in Jilin province on December 4.
The water turned from clear into ice from top to bottom as it had contact with air, demonstrating the -4 degrees Celsius temperature.
Jilin has a northerly continental monsoon climate characterized by long, cold winters and short, warm summers.
