A brave pet cat stared down a giant python that blocked a street in Thailand.

The moggy stood two steps away from the 8ft-long serpent in the middle of the path while causing a passing driver to stop in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 8.

Footage shows the feline looking calm without taking its eyes away from the reptile. Eventually, the snake slithered onto the side of the road, and the feline followed.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
