Bernardo Arevalo was sworn in on Monday minutes after midnight at the National Theater in Guatemala City as the new president of the Central American country for the 2024-2028 term.

Bernardo Arevalo won Guatemala's presidential election in last August.
With 95 percent of ballots counted, Arevalo scored 59 percent of votes, with his rival Sandra Torres trailing behind with 36 percent.
