SOUNDBITE 1 (English): JOE NGAI, Chairman of McKinsey & Company in Greater China
"When I look around the world today, I'm very optimistic about the Chinese economy. If you look at our innovation in the Chinese economy, if you look at our consumption and the population and how optimistic they are about the future, if you look at our labor force, and how diligent they are, I think that if you look at these factors and look around the world, I do think that you have to be positive about China's long-term growth prospects."
Noting China is already ahead in innovation, Ngai also marveled at Chinese companies' consistent eagerness to embrace the technology.
SOUNDBITE 2 (English): JOE NGAI, Chairman of McKinsey & Company in Greater China
"I think the most stunning part about the Chinese economy in the last couple of years has been the rate of innovation, and how technology has been embraced by companies. It's time to think about how to embrace the digital economy. If you go into any Chinese company, they already know this, they are in many ways, a few steps ahead. I'm very optimistic because I do think that this rate of innovation, this rate of embracing technology, I think, is something where you don't see that in a lot of countries around the world and a lot of businesses."
