In a swift response to a distress call, the volunteer crew of the Appledore RNLI's all-weather Tamar class lifeboat displayed unwavering dedication. The call came just after the crew had completed their weekly training session on Tuesday evening, directing them to aid a disabled commercial fishing boat experiencing engine failure 11 miles west of Bude.

Appledore RNLI, chosen for their proximity and readiness, reached the distressed vessel at 9.30pm. Assessing the situation, a tow line was established. Recognizing Padstow as the nearest and safest harbor, the Padstow RNLI Tamar lifeboat launched at 10pm. Taking over the tow just before 11.45 pm, they safely guided the fishing vessel into Padstow harbor, concluding the mission at 5.30am on Wednesday.
