The Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted for the second time within a month on Sunday morning, January 14. The lava destroyed not only residential buildings but also damaged water and electricity supplies for the town of Grindavík. People in the area were instructed to evacuate before the imminent eruption.

In this video, Dr. Alberto Caracciolo and his team from the University of Iceland can be seen collecting lava samples.
