Heroic kindergarten teacher kneels in street to save ailing toddler
A kindergarten teacher kneeled in a street to save an ailing 3-year-old boy in northern China.
The touching CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Xinji in Hebei Province on January 12.
A boy suffered a fever-induced seizure at a kindergarten. In a race against time, his teacher, Huan Huan, disregarded her own comfort, abandoned her coat, and ran to the road while carrying the child, kneeling down to flag down passing cars for help.
Fortunately, a private car owner eventually stopped and transported the teacher and the child to the hospital.
According to the boy's mother, Mrs. Yang, Huan Huan is a teacher at Hachi Kindergarten in Xinji City. On the afternoon of January 12th, around 4:00 p.m., her 3-year-old son experienced a sudden high fever and seizure at the Hachi Kindergarten. Since there were no vehicles available at the kindergarten, the teachers faced a dilemma.
Worried that an ambulance might not arrive in time, Huan Huan quickly wrapped the child in warm clothes and ran to the road to seek help from passing cars. Approximately half a minute later, a black sedan passed by. Huan Huan knelt on the ground to stop the car, and the compassionate driver stopped, offering to take her and the child to the hospital.
Mrs. Yang revealed that she only learned about the teacher kneeling down to stop a car for her son after watching the surveillance video. She was deeply moved and said, "Before this, she never told me about kneeling down to ask for help. After seeing this video, tears flowed from my eyes. I am especially touched."
Mrs. Yang expressed her gratitude, stating that her son's condition is now stable. She plans to personally thank the teacher in a few days and, once she identifies the kind-hearted driver, express her gratitude to them as well.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
