Local man found a giant flower while walking in a forest in Nagari Koto Rantang, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province.

Footage taken on Tuesday (16 January) shows the corpse flower, also known as Amorphophallus titanum, growing, yet to bloom. It temporarily reached a height of 2.5 metres.

The man, Nofriandi Heru, said he found the flower while passing someone's Sitingkai banana plantation.

"I estimate that this flower will be in full bloom in the next four days, on Saturday or Sunday. When it is in full bloom, it could be more than 3 metres high," Heru added.

The corpse flower, which is native to Indonesian rainforests, is rare to find: each bloom only lasts 24 to 36 hours.
