This video shows Russian battalions towing away a military vehicle for repair after it had broken down in the war zones of eastern Ukraine.

The operation was reportedly carried out by members of the 'West' military group near the front line city of Kupyansk, in Kharkiv Oblast.

The footage was obtained from Russia's Ministry of Defence, along with the statement: 'Repair battalions of the West' military group on the Kupyansk direction continuously restore, repair, and modernize military equipment and weaponry.

'In the repair and restoration battalions of the West military group on the Kupyansk direction, repair of heavy tracked vehicles, tanks, and other combat vehicles delivered from the front line is carried out around the clock without weekends.

'For this purpose, military personnel in one of the sections in the area of special military operations quickly set up repair and recovery points for equipment in field conditions.'

The commander of the armoured repair and recovery vehicle (BREM) with the call sign 'Bronya' added: 'We often have to work. We engage in the evacuation and repair of equipment.

'We arrive at the location of the faulty equipment, quickly hook it up, and leave. There are various situations.

'We pulled out combat equipment in time, all crews are alive. It's an armoured repair and recovery vehicle (BREM) based on the T-72 tank. A crew of three people.

'The machine is designed for evacuating tanks, heavy and light equipment. We deliver the equipment directly to the repair and recovery battalion.

'There, specialists restore the equipment in the shortest possible time and send it back to the units.

'You need to treat the equipment with care, and service it on time. You understand it, and it understands you.'

The commander added: 'Our servicemen have been awarded combat awards.

'One day, the BREM crew evacuated combat equipment. Rain, mud, no roads.

'We don't see anything, drive-by touch, by memory. We pulled it out and dragged the machine to repair. And so we work constantly.'
