A hungry customer was stunned to find their takeout food soaked with urine after it was delivered to their door - only to later realise it was the neighbour's poodle that urinated on it.

The incident was captured on surveillance video outside the customer's apartment in the city of Qinhuangdao, in Hebei China, on January 14.

In the clip, a delivery driver was seen leaving the bag of food at the customer's door.

As he turned around and walked away, a small poodle came out from behind a bike parked in the hallway and walked toward the bag, then urinated on it.

Minutes later, the person who ordered the meal opened the door only to find it was covered in urine.

Shocked and confused, they reportedly messaged the delivery driver and questioned him about the finding.

He denied knowing anything, and it was only after viewing the CCTV footage that they realised what had happened.

The neighbour said: 'A guest staying at my homestay ordered food for delivery and asked the delivery driver to leave it at the door.

'Before the guest could open the door to retrieve the order, this little fellow approached.

'Upon receiving the bag, it was discovered to be soaked in urine.

'When questioned, the delivery driver denied any involvement, but upon checking the surveillance footage with the property management, this scene was revealed.'
