A swamp deer was rescued by members of the Rae Bareli fire unit after it had fallen into a dry well in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.

This incident happened in Aniruddhpur village, Mejarganj, Rae Bareli district on January 16.

Visuals showed the rescue operation taking place. The swamp deer was seated inside the deep well after it had fallen into it and the fire unit officials ensured that it was taken as soon as possible.

A thick rope was tied around the deer's body and it was pulled by the rescuers.

The deer was pulled with great effort and the wild animal became a bit restless after being taken out of the well. It threw around its legs and ran about after it was rescued and people who were present at the spot, including the ones involved in the rescue operation, moved out of the animal's way.
