Sigrid Kaag, the United Nations senior humanitarian and reconstruction coordinator for Gaza, and her accompanying delegation inspected the logistical aid warehouses for the Gaza Strip in the city of Al-Arish on Wednesday.
Kaag and her accompanying delegation listened to a detailed explanation about the Egyptian efforts to receive and deliver aid to the Gaza Strip and the measures taken by Rami Al-Nazer, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society.

"I arrived in Cairo the day before yesterday. We had very good meetings and discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Social Solidarity, the Minister of Defence, and of course also the Egyptian Red Crescent Society. This is a very important visit because we see firsthand how much Egypt is doing with the volunteers, and the government, and everybody involved to assist, provide humanitarian assistance for the innocent civilians in Gaza. I am here because of the mandate of the Security Council to see how we can facilitate, accelerate, and expedite all areas of the assistance that is so much needed for civilians in Gaza given the very acute humanitarian conditions that they have to live with. So, this visit is committed to see, to discuss with colleagues how to improve, how we can assist the government and the Red Crescent as they wish and how they see it useful so we can ultimately benefit the civilians, innocent civilians in Gaza. That is the sole goal of the resolution of the Security Council. And information here and discussions are so important for us to advise and brief the Security Council for their discussion."
