A police officer used a small heater to warm up a wild monkey that ventured into the station from the cold in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Sub Inspector Ashok Kumar Gupta is seen patting and stroking the primate as it perched itself in front of the heating device as temperatures dropped to lows of 6 degrees Celsius.

The cop also provided some biscuits to the monkey, which left after a while without harming anyone or anything.

The cold waves have certainly gripped India with several parts of the country witnessing incredibly low temperatures and weather characterized by thick, dense fog. Amidst the biting cold weather, a cop turned out to become an example to humanity as he cared for a monkey which had entered the police station and sat in front of the heater.

This incident occurred in the Police Commissioner camp office, Kanpur Nagar on January 18.

Visuals showed the monkey sitting with his back towards the heater and the cop, on-duty officer Ashok Kumar Gupta (Sub-inspector), caring for the monkey. He patted the animal and caressed its back as it absorbed the heat from the heater. The cop cared for the animal as it found some respite from the chilly cold weather outside. The heater was placed on a table and the monkey sat right in front of it on a piece of cloth. In front of the monkey lay a chair and the police officer constantly caressed the animal's back for it to feel comfortable and warm. The cop also was said to have provided some biscuits to the monkey, which left after a while without harming anyone or anything.

The heater provided some much-needed warmth to the monkey in the severely cold weather but it was the warmth shown by the cop which turned out to be the highlight.
