This is the moment a charging power bank exploded outside a family's home in Thailand.

Resident Anne had left the device plugged in for an extended period but returned to find it overheating and bulging at her house in Nakhon Ratchasima province on January 11.

Fearing the gadget would explode, Anne told her boyfriend to throw it out of the house shortly before it caught on fire.

CCTV footage shows the power bank bursting into flames after it was chucked into the home's laundry area.

Anne and her boyfriend hurriedly doused the fire with water before it could spread.

She said: 'The power bank must have exploded because I kept it plugged in even when it was fully charged. I'm relieved no one was hurt.

'I can't recall the brand, but I've been using it for a long time before it exploded.'
