The video purportedly shows Russian soldiers successfully destroying a Ukrainian drone with a missile.

Troops from Russia's 98th Guards Airborne Division, based in the city of Ivanovo, Russia, said they crushed one of Ukraine's high-performance, multi-mission group 5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) called 'Fury'.

Russia's Ministry of Defence said that the attack, in which their troops used the 'Verba' man-portable air defence system occurred near the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut on January 16.

The ministry said in a statement: 'During combat duty, an aerial target was detected, identified as the reconnaissance UAV 'Fury' of Ukrainian formations.

'As a result of the skilful actions of the Verba missile system calculations, the target was taken under tracking and destroyed by launching a missile from the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Troops' VerbaPZRK.

'The air defence calculations of this VDV unit carry out daily tasks to cover units, locations of personnel, and equipment from enemy reconnaissance and strike UAVs.

'They also visually search for aerial objects in designated sectors.

'After detecting enemy UAVs, airborne troops destroy the enemy aircraft with missile launches from temporary and main starting positions.'

The ministry further claimed that since the beginning of the war, they have successfully shot down hundreds of Ukraine's unmanned aerial vehicles.
