STORYLINE:
A Pakistani economic expert has said that China's transition from labor-intensive to technology-intensive industries not only acts as a new driver for its economic growth but also contributes to global sustainability.
Badiea Shaukat from the Sustainable Development Policy Institute said that in order to maintain a sustainable growth of economy, China has been seizing opportunities such as new energy and digitization and shift toward high-quality development.

"If you look into the artificial intelligence and the digitization, and this big economy (China) has its core to fulfill the future demand of the products, and we saw that there are a lot of high-tech companies, high-tech zones, which are built by China in different regions.
And China, again has a prominent industry in renewable energy production including hydropower, wind power, solar power, and this renewable energy. So by producing a renewable transforming, your whole infrastructure industry, whether it's industrial infrastructure, or whether it's utility based infrastructure, by moving it towards non-carbon energy, this is one of the biggest tool, or biggest equipment, China as an economy already is building."
Shaukat said that, as the world's second-largest economy, China's economic transformation has become a new engine for sustainable development globally.

"Chinese economic growth is definitely impacting the global economic growth. We know that our future is totally transforming in artificial intelligence. And China is pretty open on that. So this opening up policy of China is gonna definitely not only give huge benefit towards Chinese economy, but also regional and then global economy."
