SOUNDBITE 1 (English): AZUBUIKE DIVINE CHIDERA, Student, East China Normal University
"During the Dahan solar term, it's common to eat some mutton to ward off the cold. Mutton is not only served in the northwest region of China. Here in Shanghai, mutton eaten with some liquor is a part of our intangible cultural heritage. Let's go try it together."
SOUNDBITE 2 (English): AZUBUIKE DIVINE CHIDERA, Student, East China Normal University
"Now the mutton is almost ready. Let's take a look. It's steaming hot, and the broth is creamy white, very enticing.
Hot and tender mutton warms your heart with just one bite. It's very delicious. And it goes with a sip of the local liquor. Take a sip.
Dahan is the last solar term of the 24 solar terms. In addition to eating mutton, turnip, beef, and sticky rice, amongst others are all good choices. This solar term also means that the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is getting closer. After a busy year, it's time to eat very well and nourish your body."
