A Brussels Airlines flight aborted landing with one wheel on the ground in a last second decision to avert disaster!

60mph gusts have struck the West Midlands aiport during Storm Isha on Sunday 21 January.

The Brussels to Birmingham Airport Airbus A319 flight gingerly approached the runway whilst Storm Isha winds picked up to 60mph and rocked the plane in the air.

What looked to be a successful landing with one wheel on the ground, pilots in the cockpit made the last second decision to abort landing and take back off into the air and try again.

Returning back for a second attempt the skilled crew managed to set the passenger aircraft down without a hitch.

Storm Isha has hit many parts of the UK and wind speeds are expected to hit 90mph in some areas with a warning to life issued and advice not to travel.
