Russian forces have taken down Ukrainian armoured vehicles and soldiers in a swift helicopter operation.

Using several helicopters, among which a high-performance combat Ka-52aircraft and another Mi-8 rescue helicopter, the Russian team performed the attack near the city of Luhansk, in Ukraine's Donbas region, on January 18.

During the mission, several of Ukraine's armoured vehicles, as well as many troops were eliminated, according to Russia's Defense Ministry.

Upon completing the mission, the group returned to their base.

Russian Sergeant Phantom, who was a part of the mission, said in a statement: 'We received a combat mission as part of the search and rescue group and fire support group, arrived at the helicopter, and successfully executed the mission without any issues.'
