Cristiano Ronaldo arrives in China sparking fan frenzy
This is the moment Cristiano Ronaldo landed in China and was greeted by hundreds of fans chanting his name.
Enthusiastic Chinese fans eagerly gathered at Shenzhen Airport on January 21 for a sight of CR7, one of the greatest football players in history ahead of a series of friendlies with his team Al Nassr.
Headed by Ronaldo, Al Nassr is preparing for a match against Shanghai on January 24, followed by a game against Zhejiang four days later.
CR7's popularity in China is evident as fans secured tickets in advance, eager to catch a glimpse of the global football icon in action.
Fresh from winning accolades at the Global Soccer Conference, where he secured the titles of Best Player in the Middle East and the Maradona Award for Top Scorer of the Year 2023, Ronaldo heads the Al Nassr delegation in China.
The lineup features key players like Brozovich, Otavio, and Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina, who has recovered from an injury.
However, the absence of players like Sadio Mane and Seko Fofana, participating in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, is notable.
Following their stint in China, Al Nassr is set to return to Riyadh for the Riyadh Season Cup 2024, with matches against Inter Miami on February 1 and Al Hilal on February 8.
