STORYLINE:

An exhibition on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was inaugurated Saturday by officials from the two countries at the library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

The exhibition collects a wealth of pictures and books, showcasing achievements made over the past decade under the CPEC in infrastructure, energy, and other fields.

"The CPEC project remains the foremost national priority in the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. The corridor, linking Gwadar Port in Pakistan to China's northwestern region, embodies our shared vision for economic prosperity, regional connectivity and mutual development. Let me acknowledge the multiple benefits that CPEC has brought to both countries, including trade opportunities, industrial growth, and enhanced people-to-people connectivity."

"Last year, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of BRI and CPEC. And when we look back, we can see that it has been a very important project in terms of the China-Pakistan strategic partnership, but also in terms of regional connectivity and integration. CPEC now has achieved its first phase, successfully completed its first phase, and we are now moving into the second phase, which is more important, more exciting and more promising. We talk about industrial cooperation. We talk about IT and agriculture."

Launched in 2013, CPEC, a flagship project under the China-proposed BRI, is a corridor linking Pakistan's southwest Gwadar port with Kashgar in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, highlighting energy, transport, and industrial cooperation.
