An Uber driver from India showed off his customised gear stick which he said alleviates his shoulder pain during gear changes.

The cabbie named Durai described his innovative solution to passenger Parth Parmar on a ride from Marathahalli to HSR Layout in Bangalore, the capital and largest city of the southern Indian state of Karnataka.

Durai said his homemade paddle shifter, created for GBP 85 (USD 108), serves as a practical remedy for personal discomfort.

Amazed Parmar said: 'This could be huge. I hope he gets the right support and guidance to make it big. There's no dearth of talent in India.'

'He turned the stick behind the steering into a gear shifter, connected with a chip which activates the relays that drive the motor assembly to shift the gear.'

Highlighting Durai's proficiency in four languages - Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, and Kannada - Parmar underscored the driver's versatility.

The innovative solution swiftly caught the online community's attention, earning praise for his resourceful approach.
