Six killed in motorway crash caused by thick fog in China

Six people were killed and several others injured in a freak road accident that included 11 lorries crashing on the motorway.

Smartphone footage from Mianchi County, in the city of Sanmenxia, in Henan, China, showed the devastating accident that resulted in a domino effect at 8:30 am on January 18.

The incident reportedly happened on China's National Highway 310 after a series of accidents due to heavy fog and slippery road conditions.

A total of 11 lorries were included in the incident, said the Henan Sanmenxia Traffic Police Department.

They added that six people died, whilst another one suffered minor injuries as a result.

Police said that they are still investigating the incident and refused to provide additional details, according to Chinese media
