A man miraculously survived after soaring onto a rooftop in a methane explosion in southern China.

The terrifying CCTV footage was filmed in Meishan City in Sichuan Province on January 8.

Mr. Wang, a local villager, was dramatically blasted into the air while attempting to clear a blockage in his methane system, resulting in serious injuries that necessitated hospitalisation.

A fellow villager who participated in the rescue operation described the harrowing scene, recounting how Mr. Wang was propelled onto the roof of another house, landing on a pile of firewood.

Miraculously, Wang sustained only injuries and remained conscious throughout the ordeal.

The explosive event occurred as Wang, concerned about the low output of methane from his pigsty, suspected a blockage at the system's outlet. In an attempt to rectify the situation, he used a wire to clear the passage.

Tragically, it is believed that the friction caused by the wire during the clearing process ignited sparks, leading to the explosion.

Following the blast, nearby villagers swiftly alerted authorities, and emergency services, including medical and fire personnel, rushed to the scene to provide aid.

The 50-year-old Wang suffered fractures and soft tissue injuries but was not in life-threatening condition.

Wang, the main breadwinner of his family, expressed his bewilderment over the explosion, lamenting the severe pain in his spine and the high daily medical costs, which have become a source of great frustration and concern for him and his family.

当事人王先生称，搞不清为什么会爆炸了，他是家里的顶梁柱，现在腰椎很痛，每天的医疗费用很高，让人很恼火。
