Two thieves had a fright when they tried to steal from a car - only to find the driver sitting inside the vehicle.

The CCTV footage shows the car owner as he caught the thieves off guard from the back seat as they attempted to steal from his vehicle in Henan, China, on January 15.

One was waiting on a motorcycle while the other inspected the vehicle.

Realizing they had been caught, the thieves hastily tried to flee. However, the escape took a chaotic turn as their motorcycle toppled over.

The driver chased them but both scampered away,

The car owner shouted: 'You've targeted me twice in a week. Do you think I'm easy to bully?'

The motive behind the repeated targeting became evident, as the car owner had previously shared his joy of buying a high-end car on social media.

This attracted the attention of the thieves, making him a vulnerable target, according to local media.
