Streets submerged under heavy rainfall in Lufkin, Texas
A recent deluge led to severe flooding along Loop 287, under the Tulane Drive overpass in Lufkin, in the U.S. state of Texas, on January 23.
Footage shows the flood submerging the eastbound lane toward Chestnut Street, with only the left lane passable.
Authorities urged residents to stay home. Motorists were cautioned to approach flooded streets with extreme care.
Officials warned road conditions may cause delays, and drivers were advised to slow down. Although the rainfall intensity was decreasing, more heavy rain was expected overnight.
