Workers blasted large fallen boulders into smaller pieces to clear the Old Foresthill Road in Placer County, California on January 20.

The rockslide had covered the highway in boulders last Thursday, posing traffic difficulties for motorists.

The Roads Division said it was actively engaged in ongoing debris removal throughout the coming week and will assess necessary road repairs for a safe reopening.

Motorists were urged to avoid the affected area and use Foresthill Road as an alternative route to their destination.
