This is the heartwarming moment kind neighbours rescued a kitten covered in oil that was stuck in a drain.

Kanok, a concerned neighbour, who was having her early jog, saw a woman standing by the drain, looking at it to find the poor kitten yowling in Pathum Thani, Thailand on January 20.

They opened the concrete lid and attempted to get the feline out, but it was heavy. Moments later, they decided to contact the municipal officers to ask for help.

Footage shows the three officers lifting the lid, opening the canal where they can hear the kitten crying.

One of the rescuers went down to get the kitten, and he successfully retrieved it.

Kanok adopted and named the cat 'Fa Chai', which means 'wealth' in Chinese.
