A hero pet owner ran from his home to save his dog when it was attacked and dragged out of the yard by a wild leopard.

CCTV footage recorded in the municipality of Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, India, shows the pooch sitting peacefully on a rug placed on the terrace at around 3:22 pm on January 20.

However, just several moments later the dog can be seen being attacked by a leopard that suddenly snuck in the yard and grabbed the canine by the neck.

Planning to make a nice meal out of the dog while holding it in its jaw, the wild animal then climbed out of the balcony and tried to leave the home, when the owner rushed towards them to rescue the pet.

Indian media revealed that the dog managed to escape the feline the moment it saw the man running in their direction.
