Landslide occurs in a Town in southwest China, killing 44 people

On January 22, a landslide occurred in Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, causing 44 people missing.

The video filmed on January 23 shows the rescuers searching for buried villagers in ruins.

According to preliminary investigations, the disaster has resulted in 18 households and 47 individuals being buried. A total of 223 households, comprising 918 individuals, have been relocated and resettled.

Based on the latest report released on January 26, 44 missing people were found dead.

The disaster that occurred this time involved a collapse in the steep cliff area at the hilltop.
