The Russian Black Sea Fleet's minesweeper responded to mine threats from Ukrainian activities, conducting a successful reconnaissance search in critical Black Sea shipping routes on January 23, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The crew efficiently identified an anchor mine using advanced hydroacoustic stations and a modern remotely controlled underwater drone, the Russian MoD said.

The Russian MoD also claimed that the drone safely brought the mine to the surface, where it was destroyed. The crew also executed preventive grenade launches as part of their preparedness measures.
