The distressing video shows a driver's windshield being smashed into pieces when it was struck by a truck's loose cargo door.

Dashcam footage showed the car driving along a road in the city of Yibin, in Sichuan, China, on January 19.

But just seconds into the video, the car can be seen slamming into a truck's cargo door, after the unaware driver let it swing dangerously while moving along the road.

The next moment showed the car's windshield being smashed as the terrified driver immediately pulled the brakes.

Following the accident, the car driver said: 'The truck driver and I were both frightened.'

Chinese media reported that nobody was injured during the incident. The truck driver was later fined for the dangerous driving.
