Early on Sunday morning four boats sailed into Camps bay beach with the Palestinian flag blowing in a mild wind. Moments later, activists wearing Palestinian regalia and some waving flags walked onto the beach.

The action comes after a Lifeguard forcibly removed a Palestinian flag from a beachgoer. The action was planned by the Youth for Al Quds and the Peoples Movement for Change as protest against the flag incident.

Mrs Fazlin Fransman - Taliep , an activist from Cape Town explained what happened during the incident.

Camps Bay is situated along the foot hills of Table Mountain and is a former whites only area. Mr Zaheer Barron a community leader and head of the Peoples Movement for Change Islamic desk explains why South Africans feel so strongly about the Palestinian cause.
