The Guardia Civil, under Operation Tumadoor23, has successfully dismantled a marijuana plantation in Benissa, detaining two individuals responsible for the illicit activity. A total of 768 marijuana plants, cultivation equipment, mobile devices, and forged personal documents were seized during the operation. The suspects, British cousins aged 51 and 56, were apprehended and presented before the Denia Court on charges related to public health offenses, marijuana cultivation, electricity theft, document forgery, and property damage.

The investigation began in November when illegal power connections hinted at an indoor marijuana cultivation setup. Subsequent phases involved identifying modifications in a rented property, leading to the discovery of the clandestine plantation. The raid, executed on January 8th, received support from the Unit of Citizen Security (USECIC) of the Alicante Guardia Civil. Despite their release with precautionary measures, the detainees face multiple charges under Operation "Miller," a national initiative targeting illegal marijuana cultivation and trafficking.
