STORYLINE:

An Azerbaijani expat has recently visited central China's Kaifeng City to learn about the traditional Chinese tea-making technique, which dated back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou
"Now we are in Kaifeng at the tea place and now Master Wang will show us the Chinese traditional tea-making technique, which has a history of more than 1,000 years.
Hello, Mr. Wang! Hello, nice to see you."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): WANG DONG, President of Kaifeng Tea Culture Research Association
"Welcome to Kaifeng."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou
"Thank you!"

SOUNDBITE 4 (Chinese): WANG DONG, President of Kaifeng Tea Culture Research Association
"Whisk the tea for several times. Then the black-colored tea will create a froth as white as snow. What the tea artist holds in her hand is called 'ChaXian,' a tool used to whisk the tea. This form of tea art originated from the royal family of Song Dynasty and requires pouring water and whisking tea for seven times respectively, which is different from the way we drink tea today."

SOUNDBITE 5 (English): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou
"Can I try it?"

STANDUP 6 (Chinese): WANG DONG, President of Kaifeng Tea Culture Research Association
"Of course, you can give it a try."

SOUNDBITE 7 (English): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou
"Okay.
It feels (like) something that I have never experienced before. I don't know. It's something different. Okay.
It takes about 40 minutes to finish making tea like this."

SOUNDBITE 8 (Chinese): WANG DONG, President of Kaifeng Tea Culture Research Association
"You can write down words and draw on the tea froth."

SOUNDBITE 9 (Chinese): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou

SOUNDBITE 10 (Chinese): WANG DONG, President of Kaifeng Tea Culture Research Association
"Using the tea."

SOUNDBITE 11 (Chinese): Tea artist

SOUNDBITE 12 (Chinese): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou

SOUNDBITE 13 (English): EMIN GANBAROV, Azerbaijani expat living in China's Zhengzhou
