Rescue team saves stray kitten trapped in pipe for 7 days in China
A rescue team saved a stray kitten trapped in a pipe for 7 days in southern China.
The video was filmed in Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province on January 16.
After receiving a call for help from a fan, a stray cat rescue team spent two days saving a cat that had been trapped in a complexly structured pipe for seven days in southern China.
A woman described the cat's predicament and explained the situation to the Ming Zai Rescue Team.
Responding to her call, the team rushed to the scene to conduct the rescue operation.
They attempted to find the kitty through a hole in the ground, so they opened a manhole cover and placed a can of food to lure the feline.
Unfortunately, only its meows echoed in the pipe. The cat didn’t show itself, despite the team members calling it and using equipment to locate it.
The first attempt took 12 hours and failed, leaving the members deeply frustrated.
The next day, they analyzed the structure of the pipe and climbed to a third-floor landing, at least 9 meters above ground level, to begin their second attempt.
The members opened a cover at this height and ran water into the pipe. Miraculously, the kitty floated along with the flow and was caught by a member at the drain's exit.
The cat was later taken to a pet hospital and has now been adopted by the fan. It was given a new name, Chenxi, which means "the first rays of the morning sun" in English, symbolizing a new beginning and hope.
Ming Zai, the team's leader, said this was the hardest rescue he had ever experienced; fortunately, they never gave up and eventually saved the kitty.
