Video shows demolition experts today (30) arriving at the home of Captain Tom Moore's daughter to tear down the controversial £200k spa building.

Onlookers said today new scaffolding could be seen covering the whole structure in the grounds of Hannah Ingram-Moore's £1.2m mansion.

Locals said workers arrived at 9am, and photos taken today show workmen moving in and out of the area.

One onlooker said they believed "destruction" of the physical building in Marston Moretaine in Bedfordshire, was due to start within hours."

Last week two men and women were seen emptying out the spa with boxes full of photos and prints

Planners ordered the demolition of the spa because they said the building did not have planning permission.

Despite appeals from Mrs Ingram-Moore, they ordered it be taken down.

Captain Tom's daughter and her husband failed to seek a judicial review of the decision and the building was ordered to be removed by February 7.

Sir Thomas Moore, popularly known as Captain Tom, was a British Army officer and fundraiser.

He made headlines in April 2020 when he raised an astonishing £39m for the NHS in the run-up to his 100th birthday by walking laps of his garden.

He died in February 2021 just short of his 101st birthday.
