This is the rare moment two endangered sea turtles were seen greeting each other with a kiss.

The pair of marine creatures were swimming on the sea floor when diver Joshua Clerigo found them off the coast of Bohol province, the Philippines, on January 23.

Footage shows the turtles touching their lips in a romantic gesture while the tourists watched them nearby.

The animals were gentle and did not appear threatened by the presence of the visitor, and they touched their lips for more than 30 seconds.

Joshua said: ‘I had a great time and felt so lucky to have captured that ocean love shot in Balicasag Island with our guide Shem.'

All seven species of sea turtles are classified as either endangered or threatened, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Coastal development, pollution, and climate change are destroying nesting beaches and foraging grounds.
