A police officer rescued two Labradors trapped in the icy waters of a reservoir in Fort Wayne, Indiana,

The local police force received a call on January 28 from a resident saying two dogs may have fallen through the ice near Reservoir Park.

Officer Trent Hullinger, who happened to be near the park, swiftly investigated the situation.

Upon arrival, Officer Hullinger discovered two black labs struggling in the icy waters of the reservoir. The dogs were unable to extricate themselves, with their heads and front paws clinging to the concrete edging. Acting promptly, Officer Hullinger successfully rescued both dogs, pulling them to safety.

The friendly labs were handed over to Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, with hopes of reuniting them with their owner or finding them a new home.
