A Russian tourist was so angry over his botched hair cut he hacked off the barber's fringe in revenge.

The vain holidaymaker visited the Salute Barbershop in Pattaya, Thailand, for a short back and sides on January 25.

As he could not speak English fluently, he instead relied on gestures to tell barber Suphachai Maneecharoen, 32, how he wanted his barnet styled.

However, when he looked in the mirror he was not happy and flew into a 'haircut rage' - taking revenge by grabbing a trimmer and lopping off some of Suphachai's hair.

CCTV footage shows the Russian man slamming his fist on the table, jolting staff and customers in the store.

He then turned to Suphachai, saying: 'You crazy mother f****r. I showed you! What the f***! Where are my bangs? What the f***'.

The towering tourist then grabbed a pair of clippers and with three deft swipes, cut off some of Suphachai's hair before storming out of the shop without paying for the service.

Suphachai reported the incident to the Pattaya City Police Station and provided the CCTV footage as evidence. He now hopes to receive an apology from the hot-headed Russian, believed to be one of many flooding Thailand to avoid conscription to the war in Ukraine.

Speaking today, the barber recounted the row, saying: 'After he slammed the table, he grabbed my head, pulled it down, then trimmed my hair with a clipper.

'I didn't retaliate, but I felt angry. I thought about several potential consequences if I fought back.

'I was afraid of facing legal repercussions or losing my job. So I chose to do nothing.

'I have been a barber for seven years, but it is the first time someone has disrespected me like this. I want the Russian man to apologise to me.'

Suphachai added that he managed to learn the tourist's address from a Russian friend, but found the man had already moved out of the condominium on January 26. He said it was unclear if the man was still in Thailand.

Officers are now investigating the incident.

Police Captain Chollawit Athipansi said: 'The Russian man, whose name was not disclosed, arrived at the barber for a haircutting service.

'He then committed assault by grabbing Suphachai's head and snatching away his hair clipper.

'Suphachai later went to the police station to file a report with the inquiry officer, initiating legal action.

'We have accepted the report and are now investigating the case.'

Former fishing village Pattaya became popular with American troops on 'rest and relaxation' breaks in the 1960s when the U.S. military had bases in Thailand. In the ensuing years, the coastal resort spawned into a semi-barbarous sex-tourism hellscape, with Russian tourists flocking there to escape conscription from the Russia-Ukraine war.

Embarrassed officials have made progress in gentrifying the region with family tourism projects but a ravenous nightlife industry and corrupt police have hampered their efforts, with undesirables from all nations still attracted to the seedy city.
