A crane collapsed injuring several workers at a hospital construction site in Thailand this morning.

The heavy equipment buckled and fell on the Teeraporn Hospital in Bangkok at around 7:52 am today, February 1.

Volunteers responded to the scene but were allegedly blocked by construction workers from entering.

The injured workers were said to have been transported to the Samitivej Thonburi Hospital. Officials have not specified how many were wounded.

Local media reported the contractor of the project was Italian-Thai Development Public Co., Ltd.

The cause of the accident was being investigated.
