Tattoo artist, 107, dances with tourists in the Philippines
A 107-year-old Filipino tattoo artist danced with a tourist during an event held at a covered gymnasium in the middle of the mountains.
Footage shows Maria Oggay, also known as Whang Od Oggay, holding hands with a foreigner who was wearing colourful loin cloths and swaying to the traditional tribal music in Kalinga province, the Philippines, on January 23.
While they danced, other locals joined the party on the side, all of them wearing traditional clothing and accessories.
Another visitor also joined in dancing with the locals while their companion, a younger man, held a camera to record the scenes.
Apo Whang Od is the longest-living tattooist in the country and still practices the ancient tattoo art named Batok, using a lemon tree thorn and charcoal soot to tap onto the skin.
