A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Villalbilla by the Guardia Civil for allegedly sexually assaulting and holding his partner captive in an underground hideout on a property. The suspect is facing charges of sexual assault, illegal detention, injuries, and abuse, all within the context of gender-based violence.

The investigation began after the victim filed a complaint at the Guardia Civil headquarters in Villalbilla. The woman claimed that she had been restrained with ties and assaulted by her partner on a property. Experts in the Judicial Police confirmed the veracity of her statement after examining her injuries.

Upon obtaining permission to enter the property, agents discovered a foul-smelling underground enclosure with stairs, matching the victim's description. During the search, they found ties, bladed weapons, and an air-compressed shotgun, all in an unsanitary and cluttered environment.

The man, who had a previous criminal record, was arrested and brought before a judge. After his appearance at the Court of Instruction No. 3 in Alcala de Henares, the judge ordered his imprisonment.
