A small aircraft crashed into a mobile home park in Clearwater, Florida, on February 1 leaving three people dead.

Footage captured the aftermath as smoke and flames billowed into the air.

The filmer told Newsflare: "We were at home in our apartment, it was Thursday night at around 7 pm when we heard a huge explosion outside that shook the entire place.

"We ran outside to check out what happened and we saw in the mobile home community right next to us a gigantic pillar of smoke and blazing fire probably about 300 feet from us.

"Constant sound of sirens in the distance, helicopters in the air, and emergency lights everywhere.

"It took first responders probably 30 minutes to tame the fire. We quickly learned that it was a single-engine airplane that had an engine failure and fatally crashed in the community."

The pilot of the plane was killed along with two people on the ground.
