STORYLINE:
Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Assoumi received on Saturday the permanent representative of Palestine to the Arab League Mohanad A.A. Alaklouk at the headquarters of the Arab Parliament in Cairo, Egypt.
The representative of Palestine briefed the speaker of the Arab Parliament on the latest developments in Palestine, and the measures taken at the international level to stop the "aggression of the Israeli occupation."
During the meeting, Alaklouk expressed his thanks to the President of the Arab Parliament for his efforts and the great role that the Arab institution plays in supporting Palestine.
For his part, Al-Assoumi confirmed that the Arab Parliament will continue its action plan to support the Palestinian cause at all levels and in all international forums, as it is the central Arab issue.
Assoumi also referred to the continuation of the Arab Parliament's efforts, alongside regional and international parliaments and international parliamentary union, to stop the war waged by Israel against the Palestinian people.
The speaker of the Arab Parliament affirmed full solidarity with the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital.
